DAP 2014 WEEK #1 - DAY 3 "You Just NEVER Know . . . "

DAP 2014 - Day 3

With an early start to DAY 3 at 7:00am, we headed out on the road to being training at Studio 27. We stopped at our "DAP" standard breakfast spot, QT aka Quick Trip, to purchase all the necessities for the day = water, fruit, etc. The morning was filled with additional training sessions including Film scene and Improv. After lunch, they continued to work on vocals, acting, filming/recording as well as group choreography.

As the afternoon approached, we made our way over to Orange Room to continue work on the song. With a concept and verses for the song, the recording session began. After a few hours tolling in the studio, we took a slight break only to be surprised. We were not told where we were going nor why we were leaving the studio. As we pull up to the venue and head up the stairs with puzzled minds, only then did we learn that we had arrived at "Breathe" music video shoot by none other than Rap/Hip Hop artist Issa (@issaiam) which featured Teen R&B sensation Jacob Latimore (@jacoblatimore)! While Issa was busy shooting a scene, we were able to meet and talk with Jacob Latimore. He was really down to earth and hopes to come to Bermuda really soon! Everyone was really shocked at the surprise and it showed in their expression filled faces. After standing in the group club shots for the video, we headed back to Orange Room to add more progress to the song and worked until 12:00am . . . DAY 4 soon - stay tuned!!

DAP 2014 WEEK 1 - DAY 2 - "The REAL work begins..."

DAP 2014 - Day 2

With our morning starting at 7am, we began with a quick breakfast meeting with Jason "JJ" Sylvain, our Vocal Coach and Artistic Director at Chick-a-fila. We then proceed to our new "creative" home, Studio 27 to begin our development. We had our participants run through physical fitness with Ms. Carmen, Monologues and TV Commercials with Greg and Anna before lunch. The afternoon began with vocal training & songwriting with Jason, as well as acting training & filming/recording with Greg & Anna. Our time at Studio 27 ended with group choreography with Ms. Brittany.

At 3:00pm (see the day was barely over - lol), we headed over to Orange Room Studios to meet John Beal and the rest of the OR team. We wasted no time and got right down to the business of creating the song for week #1. The track was created especially for us by our Intern Enrico (aka Renex Musix) and the ladies (Suki & Izzy) started to create and write their song. During their time in the studio, a special guest just happened to arrive. International singer/songwriter Ron Jackson stopped into the studio and shared a little insight with our DAP participants. He promised to get back to check in on their progress later on in the week, so stay tuned. After a few hours and great progress, it was time to call it quits for the day. After a quick stop for dinner, we headed by to the hotel and settled in for the night - - DAY 3 to come!!

DAP 2014 WEEK 1 - DAY ONE - "So this is how we start?"

DAP 2014 - Day 1

Here we are back at it again! DAP 2014 WK 1 were set and ready to start their adventure bright and early on Monday, July 7 - arriving at the LF Wade International Airport at 10am. However, the first day turned out to last longer than expected. The flight was delayed from Boston and the group had to spend 11 hour waiting for our #DELTA flight to arrive. BTW, thanks for the free sandwiches! After arriving in Atlanta at about 11:30pm, we drove to our hotel and passed out in our rooms…… get ready for day #2!!

DAP 2014 has been really busy - - - not only did we have an amazing Fundraising Concert in April (pics to follow) - - but we also performed for the Corporation of Hamilton's Pre Mother's Day event on the steps of City Hall last week Friday.  Video is provided below:
